Aide Daily Protocol
Before you leave garage:
Arrive: 5:45AM
1. Clock in
2. Figure out your route (Time, students (Age, disability, schools, equipment)
3. Be sure to know all phone numbers and who the numbers belong to. Be certain that the numbers work, if there is no label next to number, call and find out who the number belongs to.
On route:
1. Inform parents/guardian when you are 5 mins away from pickup-drop off.
2. (Call parent and send a text saying “Hello, this is Kalaju Transportation, we are 5 mins away to pickup/dropoff “Student Name, “ make sure to ask if the student is ready and coming along today)
3. Put student(s) into vehicle and make sure everyone is properly secured and door is fully closed before driving away.
4. Watch children, make sure no one is eating or drinking (especially AIDE & DRIVER) during the duration of the ride. No cell phone use (DRIVER & AIDE). PAY ATTENTION TO PASSENGERS. PAY ATTENTION TO ETA so that you can make your 5-Min arrival phone call to guardian.
5. Once you get to your destination, before exiting the vehicle, make sure that your path is clear of all oncoming traffic. Open only the right side door. If any children are too small or are prone to running, make sure to grab their hand and walk them to the door.
Once route is done:
1. Write report before you make it back to the base on your way back. Come to office and punch out.

1. Know order of students and schools
2. If a student did not ride with you in the morning, call school to find out if student will ride with you for PM.
3. If you cannot reach school, call parent and ask if the student is at school or not.
4. If you are running late to school, call school and inform them what you actual ETA is. If you cannot reach school, inform management.
Once you reach the school:
1. If you are early, wait in the vehicle until the time that you are supposed to arrive.
2. Be ready once you arrive to school to give information to staff member about who you are and who you are here to pick up. (I am “INSERT NAME” from KALAJU TRANSPORTATION, here to pick up “INSERT # STUDENTS and STUDENT NAMES.”)
3. Recognize needs of students to ensure a safe environment from the school to the vehicle. Hold hands of small students and students prone to run.
